The role of the Indigenous Education Liaison Officer is to manage SolarBuddy’s Illuminating Communities Program. Approximately 500,000 (2%) of Australia’s population have no access to safe, clean, and reliable energy sources. Energy poverty is currently limiting the health, wellbeing, and education of young Australians. SolarBuddy’s Illuminating Communities Initiative will bring clean, safe, reliable lighting and immersive STEM education opportunities to Australian communities who live with energy insecurity. The Indigenous Education Liaison Officer will work closely with First Nations led NGO partners to connect with communities and organise opportunities for students and communities to take part in our programs. There may also be times when the Indigenous Education Liaison Officer will need to travel and deliver programs themselves in Community.
This is a part-time position for 2-3 days per week, with a salary starting at $30,000 per annum.
- Manage NGO partnerships within Australia to deliver SolarBuddy programs
- Connect with schools across Australia to take part in the program
- Identify sponsors to fund the program
- Identify the differing community needs and work with community to tailor education resources
- Identify and apply for relevant grants to scale the program
- Refine and improve educational resources
- Create relationships with a variety of ambassadors to support more community accessing the program
- Identify possible gaps in the program and bring new ideas and concepts to life
- Explore opportunities for government funding and support
- Ongoing research and develop of the program
- Create a monitoring and evaluation framework in partnership with Australian based NGO’s and schools
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Tertiary qualification in education or relevant field such as communication, business or human services is preferred but not essential.

- High attention to detail and accuracy in all output
